The Exotic Reptiles Who Make Mystik Café Home
A true neighborhood coffee shop is defined by its regulars. At Mystik Café, our most famous regulars don't drink coffee—they eat fruit treats and bask under warm lights. Here is an introduction to the exotic "pet residents" that make our café a true portal to the wild.
When we set out to build Mystik Café, we wanted to reimagine what a coffee shop could be. We didn't just want to serve ethically sourced coffee and freshly baked in-house pastries; we wanted to create a portal to the wild.
A true community hub isn't just made up of people. It is also made up of the fascinating creatures we share this planet with. While other cafes might have neighborhood dogs resting under tables, our "pet residents" live behind the glass in our carefully crafted sanctuary.
The Stars of the Jungle
Our baristas know our human regulars by their drink orders, but our staff knows our scaly residents by their unique personalities and favorite treats. If you are new to the café, here are a few of the famous faces you'll meet:
- Brick the Uromastyx: Built like a little tank, Brick is a desert dweller who loves to bask. He might look tough, but he's one of our most gentle residents.
- Jumper the Crested Gecko: Sticky, bouncy, and always acrobatic! Jumper belongs to an incredible species that was once thought to be lost to a massive storm before being rediscovered. He is a living piece of history who absolutely loves his fruit treats.
- Cassian the Gargoyle Gecko: With his gothic vibe, Cassian often looks like a living statue resting on his branches—but don't let the stoic look fool you; he has a heart of gold.
- The Panther Chameleons (Chami & Blueberry): Bring a little magic and rainbow colors to our jungle space. Blueberry is our Nosy Be Panther Chameleon, a true island jewel right here in the café.
- Sahara & Zella: From our tiny Leopard Gecko to our energetic Emerald Swift, these two prove that the best friends really do come in small packages.
A Place for Wonder & Respect
We get asked all the time about how to interact with our animals. We purposefully designed our layout so that guests can observe these beautiful creatures while enjoying their coffee, studying, or socializing.
Because Mystik Café is built on respect and compassion, we just ask for a little basic jungle etiquette:
- Please avoid tapping on the glass—our residents appreciate a calm environment.
- Feel free to ask our passionate educators and staff questions! We love sharing fun facts about their habitats, diets, and species history.
- Take as many photos as you'd like (just make sure the flash is off).
Come Say Hello
Next time you stop by for your daily dose of caffeine, or a refreshing pick-me-up, take a moment to wander past the enclosures. You might catch a chameleon slowly exploring a branch or one of our other residents beginning their day.
If someone catches your eye, snap a photo and tag us on social media. Mystik was built for the curious, and our jungle residents are always here to greet new friends.
